Succubus Revealed

Title: Succubus Revealed
Author: Richelle Mead
Series: Georgina Kincaid (Book 6)
Genre: Paranormal

Georgina and Seth are working on their relationship and rationing sex. Everything seems to be going pretty well until Georgina finds out she's being transferred to Las Vegas. It seems like a Succubus's dream, but not Georgina's.

She goes and checks it out and everything seems perfect. Seth even wants to move with her, but then his sister has cancer and seems to be doing very poorly. Georgina doesn't want to let him leave her family alone.

And then things start to not add up. Georgina's paranormal group of friends are thinking about how something is not right. Georgina's transfer seems to be a way to keep her and Seth apart. It's time to try and think about the contracts again. Through some past life regression, Georgina and her friends find some very interesting information.

Quite an end to the series. I did feel as if it were a little far fetched (although apparently, making deals with Hell is not?) but enjoyed it just the same. Everything is wrapped up and ended on a perfect note.

Succubus Shadows

Title: Succubus Shadows
Author: Richelle Mead
Series: Georgina Kincaid (Book 5)
Genre: Paranormal

Seth and Maddie are getting married. Since Georgina is Maddie's best friend, that means she is first in line to help plan the wedding and be a bridesmaid. Maddie has no idea about Georgina and Seth's history nor how much pain planning the wedding is causing Georgina. Georgina doesn't want Maddie to find out about the history so she goes along with the planning anyway.

Georgina's love life (or lack thereof) with Seth has put her into some down moods. Oddly enough, every time she's down she gets a feeling of comfort and is drawn to something. Only problem with that is she ends up doing things she's not conscious of such as climbing onto her balcony railing or wading in the ocean. She tries to get help from everyone, but no one seems to be able to give her the help she needs.

Eventually she is captured by this warm fuzzy feeling, which is not so warm and fuzzy. It seems only the one person that she has a true connection with can save her and even that looks doubtful.

My secret wish came true :) I just love the characters in these books. I think about them long after. Although the plot lines of each book have some similarities, which was actually addressed in this book, I love them. Each one is full of twists and things to keep me guessing. I feel like they've come a long way since the oh so predictable book 1.

2011 until the next book. This means at least 6 months.

Succubus Heat

Title: Succubus Heat
Author: Richelle Mead
Series: Georgina Kincaid (Book 4)
Genre: Paranormal

At the end of Succubus Dreams, Seth and Georgina broke up. I was angry - I couldn't believe that the two decided they couldn't make it anymore. In Succubus Heat Georgina has a new Beau - Dante, a kind of creeper from Succubus Dreams in my opinion. Although, he does seem to get better further into the book - bringing Georgina sweet little gifts and trying to make her life easier. Although in the end he's still a jackass.

Georgina has irritated Jerome by sleeping with her therapist. She was required to see one due to her mopeyness from the breakup with Seth. Even though she appears to have moved on to Dante, she's still not herself.

Jerome sends her to Canada (where some of the references are excellent and hilarious), to help another archdemon with a Satanic Cult. She comes back after a short stint there to find Jerome missing, and her abilities gone (which adds an interesting layer to the story). And it's not only her, her vampire friends come by in the sunlight, because it no longer hurts them.

Come to find out Jerome has been summoned by a Human and is missing. This human has been hiding him somewhere so no one can find him - that not anyone is really looking. All higher beings of Hell are trying to win over the powers that be and take over Seattle now that Jerome is gone. Until either Jerome is back or someone takes his place, Georgina cannot have her powers back.

Georgina likes Jerome on some level and decides to set out to find him and free him.

Another great installment of Georgina's story. There was another little shocker or two in the end that sets up the next book, Succubus Shadows (March 30th) fairly well. I am still slightly upset as to where things are going between Georgina and Seth - but I have secret (not anymore :)) hopes that they end up together in the end anyway.

Succubus Dreams

Title: Succubus Dreams
Author: Richelle Mead
Series: Georgina Kincaid (Book 3)
Genre: Paranormal

Georgina is a succubus. A succubus with a boyfriend. This creates lots of sexual frustration. The two refuse to do anything more than light kissing for fear that Georgina will steal some of his soul and shorten his life. Seth is a famous author, and a likable character.

Georgina has recently been plagued by dreams that depict her as a typical housewife with a young girl. She knows they can never be anything but dreams, because succubi cannot have children. Every time she wakes up from this dream her power is drained away. She spends the book trying to figure out why it is that her power is draining during this particular dream. It is difficult especially when no one really puts much credit in her loosing power.

Add to that mess a brand new succubus that seems to be so bad at it she can't even get laid. Georgina has to mentor her, and she's not the best mentor. She hasn't even read the handbook.

I have been waiting for this book FOREVER. Since October 2008 to be exact. My library was a little slow in acquiring the book and eventually I stopped looking. Imagine my surprise when I looked the other day and they had not only Succubus Dreams but also the fourth installment, Succubus Heat.

I thought the story was intriguing overall, but am livid at the ending. I hope that it gets better in book 4. I still can't believe it, I just never saw it coming.

Georgina Kincaid Series

What an interesting twist of fate. Most of the books I'm currently waiting to read are on hold at my local library. So when I went this past week, I decided to just walk the aisles and pick up the books that look interesting to me without doing prior research. The hard part about this, is I've done it several times before and I'm always drawn to the same books that I've already taken out and read.

So I walk around and come across these 2 books on the shelf that obviously go together (YES! a series!) I pull them down. Read them and decided to see what else Richelle Mead (the author) wrote. Vampire Academy - yes...the book I put down the other day. What a coincidence. I really enjoyed this series too, maybe the author's not so bad after all :)

First thought out of my mind when I picked up this book - what is a Succubus, I'm going to have to look it up. Then I flip the back over and its says:

Succubus (n.)
An alluring, shape-shifting demon who seduces and pleasure mortal men.

Apparently according to Wikipedia this is a real word.
Wow - how could I not want to read this book? Georgina Kincaid is an immortal demon who sucks the life out of men. This gives her major energy and the ability to shape shift and basically live - too bad it has cost her soul. The men feel drained, sleep for days and loose years off their lives. What a life.

She works in a bookstore - meets and falls for a famous author and has a sort of supernatural puzzle to figure out. Someone is picking of the immortals - who is it? What can she do to help?

Unfortunately I found the story to be a bit easy to foreshadow, but I still highly enjoyed it.

Book 2 in the series has a lot of focus on Georgina and her now author boyfriend. Big problem when you're an adult and you can't even kiss your man. Talk about sexual struggles.

There is also another paranormal mystery to figure out. Something weird is going on with her coworkers and we meet an incubus (the male version of a succubus). This one definitely had a lot of "aww cute!" moments.

Now I found these books in the Fiction section - they are not considered romance. This leads me to wonder what is it that makes the choice to what the books are considered? In my opinion these books deserve the Romance label a lot more than say the Fever series. Can't figure that one out.

Upon further investigation (plus the little plug at the end of the book) I learn that there is a third book that came out this month! Yay!

Unfortunately - my library doesn't have this one, nor does it have the book on order yet (that I can see on their website). I could buy it, I really like this series, but I need to stop buying new books that are in the middle of a series. Then I feel the need to buy the rest of the books in the series and let's be honest - I have lots of books and I don't necessarily need that many more.

Either way - I am highly looking forward to this one, especially since currently the amazon rating is 5 stars!
